What is What About Hope?

What About Hope is a podcast and newsletter that elevates women, connects them to their inner wisdom, and empowers them to take a stand for what matters.

What About Hope is both a podcast and a newsletter of essays, interviews, ideas and inspiration.

My greatest wish is that something shared here might spark something in you as you read, listen and take in what I create. Because at our core, we are all connected. Perhaps me sharing my truth might give you permission to also share yours.

The newsletter is launching first and the podcast second. I will write regularly about what I’m learning, what’s inspiring me—in short, what’s bringing me and others hope and helping us to keep going.

Topics will include: mindset, personal growth, movement, brain science, pain science, neuroplasticity, mindfulness, play, nature, creativity, spirituality, high sensitivity, parenting, and more.

Why pay for this?

If what you listen to or read or has touched you, sparked something in you, reassured you, given you hope or helped you keep going, please consider becoming a paid subscriber.

I’ve given away much of my time for most of the last 10 years.

Each of us—myself included—is worthy in every way regardless of external circumstances, what we produce, etc. We are born worthy.

And, while my self-worth isn’t determined by what I earn, earning is a critical part of being self-sufficient, especially as a woman. Women are underpaid, ask for less, and often give more.

By becoming a subscriber, you’re helping me pay for the cost of creating valuable content—internet service, a computer, audio equipment, and time to research, produce, edit, and share that content.

If you’re like me, it feels good to support individuals and organizations who do good, put their hearts into their work, and help to make the world a better place. That’s my aim here—to make the world the kinder, more compassionate, honest place I want to live in and I want to create for our children.

With your support, I can keep creating, sharing, and helping others. I want to create a community that’s honest and messy, where you feel connected and supported amidst the challenges of living a creative life, where you know you’re not alone, and where you learn new ways to feel good, to keep going, and to keep hope alive.

If you’d like to give a gift subscription, I love that idea!

Who’s behind What About Hope?

I’m Joanna Zaremba. I’m a writer, a coach, a teacher, a learner, a creative, a nature-lover, a yoga teacher, a mindfulness practitioner, a movement nerd, a tree climber, a forager, a gardener, a mother, a small business owner, and so much more. I’m empathic, (clearly multi-passionate!) and highly sensitive.

I’m easily excited, inspired and awe struck.

I love learning and connecting seemingly disparate subjects.

My favorite subjects learning about are movement, brain and pain science, mindset, personal growth, mindfulness, and any topic related to well-being.

I delight in sharing my learning, discovery and inspiration with you.

Ideas come to me often and when I can—and do—act on them, my heart sings.

I’m lighthearted yet deep. I relish a conversation that “goes there" and changes us both.

I believe play and fun are essential for us to feel like ourselves and can be a doorway into creativity.

Equally, I believe movement of any type not only supports our well-being but can also be a portal into our creativity and inner wisdom.

I believe the body is the sacred container for our souls. And, I believe our bodies are highly adaptable and have the ability to change for the better.

I believe your answers lie within you and that the world needs you to share your special sauce.

I work as a writer and newspaper columnist, a restorative personal trainer and yoga teacher (specializing in building strength, capacity and trust in your body and changing your relationship to pain,) a mindset coach (with a goal of connecting you to your inner wisdom and teaching you practical tools to go for your dreams,) and a gardener (focusing on organic, sustainable practices.) In the past, I’ve worked in many roles, including as a newspaper reporter, health & wellness director, and pizza maker.

Most days, you can find me outside—usually on a trail and often digging in the dirt—regardless of the weather. I’m an explorer at heart and seek out adventures in life, big and small. I live in the breathtaking foothills of Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA with my husband, our son, and our quirky and cuddly dog Coco (who makes the most interesting noises and will make room for herself even if that means laying on top of you.)

You can email me at joannazaremba (at) gmail (dot) com, and find out how we can work together at joannazaremba.com. I’d love to help you (if I can,) and I also love collaborating!
